Once we needed to write about a personal experience for an English project, and I wrote about a quite special topic. I was interested in death, so I wrote about being a bystander when I saw a stray cat die in a car accident on the road. One time when my teacher came into the class, he said to me that he liked my personal narrative the most and gave me a score of 95 for this, which became my motivation of keep writing.

This experience taught me that a good teacher can really influence a student's enthusiasm in class. From that on, I completed every assignment and every essay with very high quality, hoping he will love my work and give me a score of 9 or more.

One time when I was talking to my classmate about this teacher, they said he is very strict and often gives them a grade of F. I was shocked and grateful. I had never gotten an F. I never thought that I would be the kind of student that a teacher would like because I spoke in class less often. My only way of communicating with him was to write essays every time. That was such great encouragement and recognition.
Happy for you! I study in China, where people discuss very little about death (society thinks it's taboo.) Therefore, I personally think it is very cool to discuss, contemplate, and write about death! It's a part of the circle of life, and we should not fear it.
